Conversion of the Soyuz launch complex for MaiaSpace
MaiaSpace (groupe ArianeGroup) — Guiana Space Centre, Sinnamary
The former Soyuz launch pad at the Guiana Space Centre is being converted to host Maia, the first European reusable launcher. Responsible for the design studies, AK-Architecture is designing the transformation of the facilities: adaptation of the launch area and assembly buildings, new equipment for first-stage recovery, and bringing the operating areas into compliance.
In parallel, Synergy Media Space, a sister company within the group, is handling the safety aspects of the project: preliminary ICPE study, risk control analysis of ground and flight operations, and preparation of the certification file through to certification of the launcher by CNES.
A project that brings together our two professions, architecture and safety, on one of the most demanding infrastructures there is.
