This programme of 156 social housing units, comprising LLTS and LLS, provides 9,900 m² of floor area on a wooded site in French Guiana. Certified NF Habitat Guyane, it guarantees future residents a high standard of quality: comfortable homes, controlled running costs and durable construction.

The low-rise buildings are arranged around a large landscaped central courtyard. Planted gardens, footpaths, a children’s play area and sports facilities make it a genuine shared living space, while parking is grouped along the edge of the development. The forest edge is preserved all around the site.

Bioclimatic siting guides the entire project: buildings oriented to take advantage of the prevailing winds and encourage natural ventilation, wide roof overhangs that protect the façades from the sun, dense vegetation that cools the outdoor spaces, and solar collectors on the roofs. A design conceived for the equatorial climate, which lastingly reduces the need for air conditioning.
